Hi, Unlike modern gearboxes, British cars are supposed to be shifted above 3000 RPM's and this is normal. The overdrive gearbox is the the best (although expensive)way to reduce RPM's by maybe 400 RPM. Changing differential ratio is also possible though difficult to find/accomplish.
