I recently swapped my original banjo for a tube type rear axle to install in my 1966 MGB Roadster. This axle had wire wheel hubs and I'm switching over to "bolt on" wheels. When I pulled the axle shafts I noticed that one axle had a spacer behind the bearing and the other didn't. Is this the standard practice? Which axle (L or R) gets the spacer? Thanks for your help in this matter.
